Where did you discover trance?
I discovered trance at the legendary Sunday nights at the Boulevard in Clydebank in Scotland when Colin Tevendale was resident along with Trevor Reilly. Some of the music that Colin was playing then was just so upfront, he had it waaaaaay before anyone else had it in Scotland because of his residency at the Tunnel and his involvement with 23rd Precinct record store in Glasgow. Also some of the tricks and acapella use was 2nd to none... I really learned an awful lot from him at that time...LEGEND !!!
Who has been your biggest influence?
If I could re-live one time in my life again it would be my early rave days when it was all new and completely untouched by commercialism..it was all kicking off and it was all new and very exciting for me and my mates. My local club at the time was the infamous Hanger 13 in Ayr (now closed) and it was just the best atmosphere I've ever experienced week in week out. It was the first club in the UK to pull acts from overseas like Dyewitness, Hardfloor, Human Resource, Ramirez etc...I'll never ever forget those amazing nights !!
What moment would you live again if you could?
Mauro Picotto has easily been my biggest influence..around his 1998-2002 period. He was putting out some of the filthiest f*cked up beats imaginable with his studio partner Riccardo Ferri..and no one has come close since !!! Absolute genius !!!
Where in the world is trance-central?
Last time I looked it was right across the road from Glasgow Central station.. platform 10 I think ??? :)
