Where did you discover trance?
I discovered trance first through the Chemical Brothers' 'Surrender' album then moving onto the Dave Pearce 'Euphoria' albums. Hearings tracks like Darude – Sandstorm, Faithless – Insomnia and Delerium – Silence in clubs helped but I it was definitely Dave 'The Rave' Pearce who started an enduring love affair for me! Respect to the man in the baseball cap!
Who has been your biggest influence?
I would say without a doubt M.I.K.E. Push. He is a production genius; he first got me into 'proper' trance with tracks like 'Universal Nation', 'The Legacy' and my all time favourite record 'Strange World'. Even though he has changed his style now, the quality still shines through. The man is a legend.
What moment would you live again if you could?
There are so many moments I would live again if I could haha! Meeting Armin van Buuren at the DJ Mag awards was a particular highlight, what a worthy number 1, I've never met such a charming, charismatic and funny DJ. He earnt a lot of respect from me that night. I'm sure our paths will cross again someday!
Where in the world is trance-central?
Amnesia, Ibiza. You can see the DJs love it there, no wonder they call it the DJs paradise. It is the perfect arena for trance, great soundsystem, the ice cannons, the lighting, surrounded by sexy people on the party central of the world – hell it even makes an Above & Beyond set enjoyable ;-)
