Where did you discover trance?
Before trance what I discovered was melody. I started to play the piano at the age of 4. At 7 I attended a music school in my city, where I grew up with classical music for pianoforte. I took a closer look into dance when some of my friends introduced me to electronic music giving me some CDs. I really liked techno music but something was missing to my hears, actually melody was missing. That's why I thought to put some melodies from classical music into electronic and techno stuff, blending all together. Later in the years, when I took a look into the European music I realized that this music style, was already called trance.
Who has been your biggest influence?
To be honest for a few years I've been influenced so much by my favorite Italian artist Mauro Picotto, which is still one of my favorite, but I have also to admit that I'm a big fan of Paul van Dyk since 1996. Definitely he has been one of my biggest influences.
What moment would you live again if you could?
Love Parade 2002 was my first experience as a DJ outside Italy and, musically speaking, it was one of the strongest events in my life. That could be a good moment to live again, nevertheless I don't think live it again would be so good as the first time was and I don't think it would be able to give me the same emotions. I prefer to keep in mind what already I have.
Where in the world is trance-central?
Unfortunately it's not Italy, even if something is slowly growing up. Anyway I would say that trance, or however we want to call it, is everywhere because above all melody is everywhere.
