Where did you discover trance?

We discovered trance in the early house music between 1992 and 1994. The term Trance was not really born, we just liked the trancey tracks the best and we would put them all in the mix to put the dancefloor into a trance. Around this time we would also mix it with some Psychedelic and some trancey techno. In 1995 when we were coming together in the TranceBuddha (R.I.P) the term trance was more common, and in the years that followed we were called trance DJs, also in the beginning we just wanted to play good music, which happened to be called "trance"! Before we met at TranceBuddha we did not know each other, the management of the club brought us together. We have been playing at many parties on our own, but the lift-off came when we started paying back-to-back in this club. This club was in the centre of Amsterdam and was alive from 1995 till 2000 (R.I.P.)

Who has been your biggest influence?

There are a few who had influence on us: there was Paul Oakenfold with his fluoro records, Paul Van Dyk (still at the moment), Per (a well known dutch name that opened my eyes around 1988 to what you can do mixing tracks and getting the crowd into ecstacy). And mainly the music itself was our influence rather than DJs. Just playing good music!!

What moment would you live again if you could?

There are again many good ones to choose from, but I would definitely say one of those good old Saturdays in the TranceBuddha where we were residents for 5 years or our first desert party in Israel around 1999! Also Brazil Beachparty 2002. And of course playing at parties like Trance Energy, Dance Valley, Sensation and Mysteryland is of course also very nice to do :)

Where in the world is trance-central?

We think that this point is in the Cosmos. When people dance and close their eyes and leave their body. At this point you can dance all night at Trance Central where everybody comes together worldwide - without getting tired!
