Where did you discover trance?
Probably on the dance floor of Malibu Stacey, Seb Fontaine's old club where I was a regular, when tracks like Disco Citizens Footprint started to appear in amongst the housey stuff that was more common then. It was more a gradual awakening than a sudden thing, as music wasn't so genre based then and people used to play sets that were all mixed up.
Who has been your biggest influence?
I think we grew out of a combination of Matt Darey, Chicane, Ferry Corsten and Paul Oakenfold.
What moment would you live again if you could?
The Electric Daisy Carnival in LA this summer was one of our career high points - 20,000 people in the Olympic Stadium who seemed to know all the words to all our songs. It was incredible.
Where in the world is trance-central?
It isn't geographically situated any more - there are growing trance scenes in the USA, South America, Spain, Italy, France, Eastern Europe, Russia and the far east: its all connected by the internet and is truly international.
